Timer is a timer and countdown app for iOS. This page explains what data the app handles and why.

What Timer stores

• Your timers. Each timer's label and start/end times are stored in a local, on-device container shared by the app, its widgets, and its Home Screen quick actions — this is what keeps a timer in sync across the app's own surfaces on your device. Finished timers are removed from this container automatically after 24 hours.
• A display name (optional). If you share a timer with someone, you can enter a name so they see "Sam paused Pasta" instead of "Someone paused Pasta." This is stored only on your device and sent only to people you actively share that specific timer with.
• Shared timers, via your iCloud account. When you share a timer with someone, Timer uses Apple's CloudKit — backed by your own iCloud account — to keep that one timer in sync between participants. Timer never sees this data; it passes through Apple's infrastructure under your iCloud account exactly as any other iCloud-synced app's data would.

Notifications

Timer schedules local notifications, on your device, to alert you when a timer or countdown finishes. These are not sent through any server Timer operates — there isn't one.

What Timer does not do

• No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind.
• No account, sign-in, or profile beyond your own Apple ID (used only for the optional iCloud sharing above).
• Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with third parties.

Children

Timer does not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age — see above.
